Installation Overview

Our standard fibreglass pool installation includes the core work needed to install the shell, connect the system and hand the pool over in working order. Installation may vary depending on site conditions, selected extras and any separately quoted work. Ultimately each site is unique and the installation will be adjusted as needed - below details must be used as a guide only and is not set in stone.

  • Set out pool according to approved pool plan and site measurements.
  • Confirm access, layout and equipment location before work begins.

 

Important notes:

  • Client to arrange electrical connection and water supply during the installation.
  • BK will use the client’s municipal water for backfilling, the pool installation, paving installation and clean-ups.
  • Client’s municipal water will be used for filling the pool, unless other arrangements have been made.
  • Excavation of the pool to the required shape and depth in soft soil.
  • Delivery of fibreglass shell to site.
  • Placement of shell into the excavated hole, including over-wall or over-roof if required.
  • Levelling of pool shell and checking position tolerances.

Important notes:

  • Additional costs apply for hard dig, rock or clay ground installations.
  • Crane hire is not included.
  • Backfilling around the shell using sand, cement and the client’s municipal water
  • Backfilling behind the pool shell and filling of the pool with water goes hand in hand. 
  • The pool is filled gradually with the Client’s municipal water. 

Important note:

  • The pool must be filled gradually with the backfilling process. If filled all at once, the shell may become unstable and crack.
  • Installation and connection of plumbing
  • Installation and. connection of pump and filter system.
  • Installation of electrical cable and connection to plug-in system.
  • Linking all equipment to the pool shell and testing for correct flow.
  • Final equipment positioning.

Important notes:

  • Plumbing max piping: 30m
  • Electrical cable max: 15m
  • COC is not included.
  • Installation of the first row of paving around the pool as standard
  • Installation of decking if applicable

Important note:

  • Additional paving remains the client’s responsibility unless quoted separately.
  • Installation of optional extras if selected and accepted on the quote
  • Removal of normal installation rubble generated during the installation process.
  • Rubble moved to curb side and collected during the course of installation.

Important notes:

  • We work with independent companies for the rubble removal and are reliant on their schedules. 
  • Rubble removal does not include plants, grass, tree branches, tree stumps, tyres or building materials.
  • Skip hire is not included in the quoted price.
  • System start-up and testing.
  • Final inspection and operational handover.
  • Demonstration of pump, filter, cleaning and maintenance procedures.
  • Handover booklet sent through by the office.
  • Warranty certificate issued after receipt of final payment.

Important Exclusions & Site Factors

Every installation site is different. Some factors fall outside the standard installation scope and may result in additional costs, third-party work or client responsibilities.

General Exclusions

• Drawing, submission and approval of pool plans

• Crane hire where required

• Hard dig, rock and clay ground installations

• Additional paving or reinstatement of existing paving

• Retainer walls, boundary walls, steps or structural support

• Electrical connection from the Main DB board to the pool DB

• Landscaping, irrigation adjustments and garden reinstatement

• Skip hire and removal of non-installation rubble

• Water balancing after handover

• Repairs to underground services damaged during installation

• Additional work caused by incorrect levels supplied by the client or third parties

Important Site Factors

• Suitable access for delivery and rubble removal is essential

• Standard installations take approximately 12 working days, subject to weather and site conditions

• Final position and level tolerance of 20mm is acceptable

• Noise, dust and general construction disruption should be expected

• The pool must remain full of water after installation

• The warranty is only applicable to the original purchaser and is not transferable to third and subsequent parties

Workmanship

Fibreglass shells are designed to operate at a maximum water temperature of 29°C. Running the pool at a constant temperature above this may cause the shell to default and will affect warranty cover.

Darker colours such as dark blue and grey carry no colour warranty. White streaking / blotching may occur due to pigmentation characteristics.
